Resistive vessel function in coronary artery disease.

چکیده
Traditionally, the coronary circulation was divided into two arterial compartments: the conduit and the resistive vessels. It has become apparent that there is substantial heterogeneity in resistive vessels with respect to the regulation of coronary flow, which is modified by the perfusion pressure, flow, myocardial metabolism, and ventricular wall tension. Early in the atherosclerotic process, the ability of the coronary resistive vessels to vasodilate maximally under physiological or pharmacological stress is impaired,' often in the presence of coronary risk factors and before the development of angiographically apparent disease." There is also some evidence showing that myocardial ischaemia may be caused or exacerbated by an inappropriate vasoconstriction of resistive vessels.45

Comparison of Treatment Outcomes in Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Graft and Medical Therapy in Patients with Triple-vessel Coronary Artery Disease and Severe Ventricular Dysfunction
Introduction: Heart failure is a major hazard for public health. Despite recent advance in medical therapy, there is not enough information on the outcome of off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) and medical therapy on the patients with severe ventricular dysfunction and triple-vessel (CAD). This study aimed to compare treatment outcomes and mortality rate in patients undergoing off-pump coro...

Introduction: Renal artery stenosis is the most prevalent disease of renal artery and has an important role in making hypertension and renal atrophy. Since in previous researches, despite high frequency of risk of cardiovascular disease in Iran, there did not exist any general research investigating risk factors of coronary artery disease and incidence of contemporary renal artery stenisis, ...
متن کاملAvoidance of Dialysis in an End-Stage Renal Disease Patient Status-post Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Certain benefits are clearly associated with the use of off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) as compared with the on-pump CABG. The superiority is more evident in patients with multiple co morbidities including renal failure. We reviewed the medical records of a 67-year-old male with a past medical history that was significant for multiple cardiovascular diseases and new-onset end-sta...
متن کاملAssociation between T-786C polymorphism of endothelial nitric oxide synthase gene and level of the vessel dilation factor in patients with coronary artery disease
Various polymorphisms on endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOs) gene cause reduced production of NO, the endothelial relaxing factor, and may accelerate the process of atherosclerosis. The study designed to investigate the frequency of T-786C polymorphism of the eNOs gene in patients suffering from coronary artery disease (CAD) in north-west of Iran. One hundred twenty subjects including 60 p...
متن کاملApolipoprotein E Gene Polymorphism in Iranian Coronary Atherosclerosis Patients Candidate for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
Objective(s): Apolipoprotein E genotype (APOE) polymorphism affects lipid levels and coronary artery disease (CAD) risk. The aim of this study was to study the association of the Apolipoprotein E genotypes with coronary artery disease in the Iranian population. Materials and Methods: The Apolipoprotein E genotype in DNA samples extracted from 66 CAD+ patients and 61 control s...
